Dear friends,

The conflict in Middle East is increasingly murderous. As we sit far from our loved ones, the feeling of impotence can be excruciating.

In fact, The Middle East has not been at such a critical and historical cross roads since the 1970s.

At this juncture, while many might think there is not much to do and feel paralyzed, we believe any little bit can count.

We are a  community of over over a million strong in Canada and even if part of this community mobilized to raise their voice to ask our elected representatives and our government to uphold the rule of law and promote peace, the impact will be felt.

This is not about taking sides, there is only one side, that of innocent civilians and that of respect for the territorial integrity.

Below is a short letter many have sent to the Prime Minister office (mark.carney@parl.gc.ca), copying the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Anita.Anand@parl.gc.ca) and their local MP as well.

We would like to suggest and invite you to also contact these same authorities - in your own words or by using any part of this letter as you see appropriate - to ask for the upholding of the rule of international law by Canada and its international obligation, which is the only way to have an orderly world and to safeguard civilians and their lives.

Every drop counts, if we build up the numbers, it will matter. Time is of essence and there is no downside to taking such initiative at this critical and historical juncture. Please feel free to share this initiative with your liked-minded network.

May everyone be safe through these dark times.
